Rob Riggle served in the military for 22 years earning the rank of lieutenant colonel

Most people know him from "The Daily Show," "21 Jump Street," or "NTSF:SD:SUV," but a select few know him first and foremost as a Marine. Rob Riggle spent over 20 years in the United States Marine Corps and has shown that the military can provide stability while helping pave the way to success. Riggle spent most of his early years in Kansas – he attended high school in Overland Park and graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Theater and Film. Riggle's first military ambition was to be a pilot, but subsequently left flight school to peruse comedy. He served for nine years on active duty before going into the reserves. He became a Public Affairs Officer and was usually attached to Command Elements. Due to his occupational specialty, Riggle served with a number of different units including the 2/2, 3/8, 24th MEU SOC, 2nd MAW, CENTCOM, MTU-17, HQPA, 3rd Bat., and 5th Special Forces Group. While serving, Riggle visited Liberia, Kosovo, and Afghanistan. "My military service definitely helped me understand what the military was up against in Iraq and what they were trying to accomplish. Having served in Afghanistan, I understand how difficult the mission can be," he said in a public interview set up by the Washington Post. Many celebrity veterans left their service behind once they'd found their stride, but Riggle maintained strong ties to the Marine Corps for many years. In fact, he was still a reservist while his career in entertainment gained traction. While he was acting, performing stand-up comedy, and pitching ideas to Hollywood, Riggle managed to put in the requisite time to the Marine Corps Reserves. However, on January 1, 2013, Riggle announced his retirement from the USMC. Riggle's success in entertainment hasn't diminished his standing with fellow Marines. Marines Mag, the official magazine of the USMC, conducted an interview with him that covered his time on active duty as well as his acting career: Why did you choose to serve in the Marines? I joined when I was in college, April 25, 1990. I had my pilot's license when I was in college at the University of Kansas and was able to attain a guaranteed flight contract. Along with my flight contract, I chose the Marine Corps because I believed they offered the greatest challenge. They had such a proud and amazing history… I wanted to see if I had what it took to become a Marine. How was your experience during your earlier days as a lieutenant? I went to flight school and trained as a student pilot. I was getting close to getting my wings when I made one of the most difficult decisions of my life – I decided to quit flying so I could have a chance to pursue comedy. If I had continued flying I didn't see how I would be able to take my shot at comedy. I left flight school and became a public affairs officer. I completed my ground contract and commitment and then began to pursue my dream of becoming a comedian and actor.

Dr Ruth is a trained sniper.

From time to time, life will feed you one of those amazing facts which will rock your worldview and change the entire way in which you look at a person. Much of the world will know Dr. Ruth as the short little old lady who talks pretty explicitly about sex. Many were captivated by her wisdom while others were just dumbfounded at what looked like their grandmother talking a whole lot about sex. Whatever you may have thought about Dr. Ruth, it is likely you never sat back and wondered if she was an Israeli trained sniper who fought for the creation of the Jewish State. Just don’t say that within a 1,000 yards of her because I hate to rock your worldview, but that is exactly who she is. Dr. Ruth, sex therapist extraordinaire and Israeli Sniper. An Unbelievable Life Born Karola Ruth Siegal, a younghad the horrible misfortune of watching her father taken away by the Nazis in 1930’s Germany. While that would not be an uncommon experience for young Jewish children of that era, Ruth was fortunate to be sent to a Swiss boarding school in 1939 by her mother and grandmother. Ruth would never see a member of her family again. As the war raged around her in Europe, Ruth was to be raised in this boarding school from the age of 11 on. While she remained in contact with her family through letters, those ceased in 1941 as her parents became another tragic casualty of the Holocaust. She never knew for certain what happened to her parents, but as the world become shockingly aware of the Nazi atrocities, it became quite apparent they did not survive Hitler’s Germany.

Hitler has a tiny deformed penis and one testicle.

Hitler suffered from a condition called hypospadias which left him with an abnormally small manhood, according to historians Jonathan Mayo and Emma Craigie It has long been suspected that Hitler's conquest of Europe was an attempt to compensate for a lack of potency elsewhere. But the notorious playground rhyme about his testicles appears to have only told half the story, as a book claims the leader of the Third Reich had a micropenis. Hitler suffered from a condition called hypospadias which left him with an abnormally small manhood, according to historians Jonathan Mayo and Emma Craigie.

Kesha has an IQ of 140 and scored a 1500 (out of 1600) on her SATs.

Kesha reportedly scored a 1500 on her SAT’s (which is a near perfect score) and has an IQ of over 140 putting her in the “Near Genius” category! Unlike today’s custom-clad pop stars, Sebert, who goes by Ke$ha, isn’t above wearing a Hefty bag — for the right occasion. “I went to P. Diddy’s White Party with a white garbage bag tied around me because I didn’t have a white top,” she continues, flicking a straw-colored curl from her face. “I think confidence can sell anything.” Yes, confidence is great, but Sebert, who’s currently finishing her debut album of “electro trashy pop magic” on RCA Records/Kasz Money Inc., has the relaxed charisma and visual appeal — lanky and lightly tanned, with an unruly lioness mane, blue eyes and freckled nose — to sell you on trash bag chic. (As for the dollar sign in her stage name, “It’s all the money I’ll ever need,” she explains. “’Cause I’m f–king money!”) “You don’t find an artist like her every day or every year,” says Sebert’s mentor and pop-music maestro, Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, who signed the singer to his RCA imprint and co-produced her first single, “TiK ToK” (out this week on iTunes), after coming across her demo five years ago. The brains behind Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl” and “Hot N Cold,” as well as chart toppers by Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears and Avril Lavigne, Gottwald was searching for an artist to develop at the time. “I wanted to find someone unique and someone interesting,” he says. “[I was looking] for a voice to strike me…and when I heard Kesha’s voice, I was like, ‘Holy crap! Let’s find this girl.’” Sebert was 17 years old and finishing up high school in Nashville. Though bright and academically minded (by her account, she scored a 1500 on the SAT and planned to study psychology and religion at Barnard College), Sebert was quickly convinced by Gottwald and his frequent collaborator, Max Martin — of “…Baby One More Time” fame — to drop out of high school several months shy of graduation in order to give singing a go in Los Angeles. Martin and Gottwald had been working with “the Paris Hiltons and Britney Spears of the world,” Sebert says. “I think they liked that I don’t give a f–k and I’m completely irreverent. [I’m] just a bit more willing to be retarded and not apologize for it.

The CIA (Central intelligence agency) produced pornography

President Sukarno ruled Indonesia from 1959 until 1966, when he was deposed by Suharto, one of his generals. Sukarno had been deemed pro-Communist by the CIA, which meant there would inevitably be an attempt to oust him or at least make him look bad—but the plot they actually came up with was truly laughable. The CIA produced a porno film starring a Sukarno look-alike, titled “Happy Days”, for distribution in Indonesia. Not that the culture generally frowns upon such things, but as the CIA understood it, “being tricked, deceived, or otherwise outsmarted by one of the creatures God has provided for man’s pleasure cannot be condoned” in Indonesian culture, and “what we were saying was that a woman had gotten the better of Sukarno.” The film went as far as production, and stills were made, but for some reason (perhaps common-sense) it was never deployed.Bizarrely enough, this idea resurfaced shortly before the Second Gulf War, when the CIA suggested that a fake gay porno featuring Saddam Hussein or Osama Bin Laden be produced in order to discredit these men in the eyes of their followers. This went nowhere—at least one official claiming that nobody would care. “Trying to mount such a campaign would show a total misunderstanding of the target. We always mistake our own taboos as universal when, in fact, they are just our taboos.”

Reasons why hair stops growing.

According to HowStuffWorks, Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease that attacks the hair follicles. The condition causes the hair to fall out and growth to slow. Under normal circumstances, hair begins to grow again after a few months. A related condition, alopecia universalis, causes loss of all the scalp and body hair. Scars often stop hair growth in the affected area. Burns, skin infections or injury or X-ray treatments can leave scars on the scalp, eliminating hair follicles so that hair no longer grows in the area. Telogen effluvium is a condition affecting the resting phase of hair growth, which is the final phase. Under normal circumstances, an individual loses 50 to 100 hairs daily in the hair growth cycle. However, those suffering telogen effluvium lose more hairs daily. Most cases last about six months, but chronic versions persist for years. In some cases, the hair begins to grow again on its own, but in others, medication helps to restore the growth cycle.

In 1952 Albert Einstein was offered the president of Israel but he declined.

David Ben-Gurion offered Einstein the position through Abba Eban, who was then serving as Israel's ambassador to the United States. Einstein, who was 73 at the time, also said that his advanced age made him an unsuitable candidate. However, the great scientist made it clear that his connection to the Jewish people was his "strongest human bond." Einstein died in 1955, less than 3 years later. The Israeli presidency eventually went to Yitzhak Ben-Zvi.

The longest war in history lasted 335 years and had no deaths.

The 335 Year War came as the result of British Civil War, which pitted two groups against each other: the Parliamentarians and the Royalists. The Netherlands wanted to be on the winning side, and the Parliamentarians were driving Royalists out of Britain and to the Isles of Scilly to the south. Naturally, the Netherlands bet on the Parliamentarians and joined their side. It proved to be a smart move, even though the Netherlands and the Royalists had been allies for a very long time up to this point. Betrayed and angry, the Royalists raided and looted Dutch trade ships in the English Channel. In response to the attacks, the Dutch sent war ships to the Isles of Scilly to demand reparations for the raids. When the Royalists refused, the Dutch declared war. Thus began the longest and least painful war in human history. Three months later, the Royalists surrendered to the Parliamentarians. The British Civil War had ended, and the Netherlands navy returned home from Scilly without a scratch. They forgot one important technicality: they never signed a formal peace treaty with the Royalists and the Isles of Scilly. 1985, a historian from Scilly, Roy Duncan, noticed this oddity and wrote to the Dutch Embassy in England. Both sides were shocked to learn that they were "still at war." And so, in 1986, seeking to resolve the sordid bloodless affair, Scilly and the Netherlands signed a peace treaty. Dutch Ambassador Jonkheer Rein Huydecoper, upon signing the agreement in Scilly, remarked that "it must have been harrowing to the Scillonians to know we could have attacked at any moment." With that, the longest "war" in human history had ended.

Albert Einstein married his cousin (Elsa Einstein)

Elsa Einstein (January 18, 1876 – December 20, 1936) was the second wife of Albert Einstein. Elsa had the surname of Einstein at birth, lost it when she took the name of her first husband Max Löwenthal, and regained it in 1919 when she married her cousin Albert. She began a relationship with her cousin Albert Einstein at Easter 1912,while Albert was still married to his first wife, the physicist Mileva Marić. Einstein's divorce from Maric was final on February 14, 1919, and Elsa married him three and a half months later, on June 2, 1919.

The trump world tower is the largest residential building in the world

According to the name The Trump world tower, the building is owned by controversial united state presidential candidate Donald Trump .

Adjacent to the United Nations Headquarters and surrounded by lush landscaping with a public plaza along East 47th Street, residents enter through the exquisite two-story marble lobby to a world of incomparable luxury. Expansive layouts, ten to sixteen foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and superior amenities prompted the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) to award us with “Best Residential Project in the World” in 2003. The oversized residences display river or city views, with amenities designed to rival the world’s five star hotels. Combine the convenient porte-cochere entryway; valet garage service; available limousine service; private spa and health club; 60-foot pool; private wine cellar; the World Bar and MEGU restaurant, and home has never been so completely refined.

Julius Caesar and Alexander the great were both epileptic

Our
Belief that Caesar suffered from epileptic fits is almost entirely due to a couple references in Plutarch. Plutarch mentions that Caesar had poor health, and refers to "fits" or "attacks" (the Greek could mean either) of his disease. Plutarch also describes that Caesar supposedly had an attack of his disease on the floor of the senate, where he cried out in a loud voice. But Plutarch never describes the symptoms of the disease and the closest thing we have to a description is his account of Caesar's actions at the senate, where he supposedly cried out uncontrollably that anyone who wished to kill him could. Plutarch says that Caesar later claimed that it was due to an attack of his disease, and that people afflicted with that disease (note that Plutarch never refers to it as the sacred disease or by any of the usual terms with which epilepsy was described--it's always just "the disease") tend to become giddy when talking before large crowds, which certainly sounds more like stage fright than epilepsy. Suetonius, however, explicitly says that Caesar was attacked by the "electoral sickness" (morbus comitialis, the usual Latin term for epilepsy, so called because epileptic fits were considered due grounds to postpone elections) twice on campaign. But Suetonius doesn't describe the attacks at all. Now, although that's rather thin evidence, usually when you've got two sources that agree on something like this and there's no good reason to doubt it you'd accept it. With Caesar, there is a good reason to doubt it. In antiquity epilepsy was not seen, at least in the Mediterranean, as some sort of curse (usually). Referred to as the "sacred disease" among the Greeks, it was generally perceived by those uneducated in medicine or natural philosophy as being possession by a deity, although whether malicious or not was usually up to the specific case. The Greeks and the Romans knew the causes and symptoms of epilepsy quite well since at least the Hippocratic treatise On the Sacred Disease, the first medical treatise which seriously attempts to systematically disprove the idea that disease is caused by supernatural causes and prove that it is due to physical causes that can be targeted by regimens. Nevertheless, even though anyone educated knew better, epilepsy still stuck in the popular imagination, which frequently shows through in literature. Epileptics were often the possessors of great powers, being the subjects of divine favor, or were great men just generally favored by the gods. Generals in particular seem to have been described as having epilepsy. Alexander, Caesar, and (if memory serves) Hannibal are all described by sources as having epileptic fits. This makes it seem suspect. Plutarch's testimony is particularly suspect, not only because he never calls it epilepsy and the symptoms don't match up, but also because Plutarch pairs Caesar's biography with Alexander's and seeks to draw similarities between the two. Alexander is mentioned as having epilepsy in several sources (whether he actually did or not is a question for another day) and with this in mind it's not surprising that epilepsy pops up with Caesar as well. Suetonius is harder to refute. Keep in mind, however, how Suetonius was getting material--essentially through gossip, as he himself admits readily. While suetonius should not be dismissed quite so readily as some on this subreddit would like to think, critics of the theory that Caesar was epileptic note that all kinds of rumors are spread in an camps about generals, and frequently Suetonius takes these rumors seriously, or at least decides to write about them. Now, could Caesar have had some similar disease that was misidentified as epilepsy? Doubtful. Like I said, the Greeks and Romans knew epilepsy pretty damn well, and it was one thing physicians loomed out for constantly. Modern retrospective diagnoses aren't really that helpful, since diseases were described very differently in antiquity, making such diagnoses more or less speculation (it also doesn't help that many of the people doing these diagnoses frequently don't know the language of the texts and can't perform the kind of close reading and analysis that would be necessary to really understand the descriptions of symptoms). And in the long run it doesn't really matter much--what difference does it make exactly what was wrong with Claudius, for example. We have all kinds of (frequently conflicting) descriptions of his disease, many of them pure gossip and many nothing more than slander, and picking through such things is not accurate nor does it help much, distracting us from the point--that people at least believed+ that there was something g wrong with Claudius, which affected his rule. Much the same thing can be said of Caesar.

The rapist American President "Grover Cleveland".

Cleveland's sex scandal was well buried, but I found the long-forgotten affidavit from Maria Halpin, about the violent sexual assault that resulted in the birth of Cleveland's illegitimate child. On the evening of Dec. 15, 1873, Halpin, an attractive 38-year-old sales clerk working at a department store in Buffalo, New York, was on her way to a friend's birthday party when she ran into Cleveland strolling down Swan Street. Cleveland was a chunky 37-year-old bachelor whose six-foot frame projected a figure of might and vitality. He had been courting Halpin for several months and they exchanged greetings. Cleveland invited her to dinner at the Ocean Dining Hall & Oyster House. He was pretty "persistent" about it, Halpin would later recall. Their meal together was a pleasant one. Cleveland escorted Halpin back to her room at a downtown boarding house. What happened next, according to Halpin's affidavit, would in another era be classified as date rape. Cleveland sexually assaulted her "[b]y use of force and violence and without my consent," Halpin reported, adding that when she threatened to notify the authorities, Cleveland "told me he was determined to ruin me if it cost him $10,000, if he was hanged by the neck for it. I then and there told him that I never wanted to see him again [and] commanded him to leave my room, which he did." Six weeks later, Maria became aware that she was pregnant. The boy was born on September 14, 1874, in a hospital for unwed mothers in Buffalo. He was named Oscar Folsom Cleveland, after Cleveland's best friend (Cleveland would later marry Folsom's daughter despite a 27-year difference in age, and she became America's youngest first lady. But that's another story.) What happened to Maria Halpin next was a cruel injustice straight out of a Charles Dickens novel. Cleveland arranged to have the child forcibly removed from his mother and placed in the Buffalo Orphan Asylum. Maria Halpin was thrown into the Providence Lunatic Asylum, although the facility's medical director quickly released her after an evaluation, concluding (correctly) that she was not insane and that her incarceration was the result of an abuse of power by political elites. Cleveland won election as mayor of Buffalo on a clean-government platform in 1881. A year later, he became governor of New York. As "Grover the Good," he won the Democratic nomination for president in 1884. Once he was named to the national ticket, it didn't take long for the media to expose the existence of his illegitimate son. What followed next was a malicious smear campaign: Cleveland's people got the word out that Halpin was a sexual plaything who drank to excess and was intimate with at least three (and possibly four) married men, all of them cronies of Cleveland. Cleveland, it was said, took responsibility for the child's conception because he was the only bachelor among Maria Halpin's gentlemen callers. Cleveland saw the matter through in the most "courageous way," the PR spin went, explaining that his indifference to the boy was due to "doubts about his fatherhood." Utter nonsense. My research has established that this time-honored version of the Cleveland scandal is fundamentally dishonest—almost entirely a fairy tale. Maria Halpin was no harlot. She was a widow with two young children, a church-going woman held in high esteem by all who knew her. From everything I could discover about her life, she was what in the 19th century would be termed a chaste woman. Maria Halpin died in 1902 at age 66, with $200 to her name, forever linked to scandal and shame. On her deathbed she reportedly said, "Do not let the funeral be too public. I do not want strangers to come and gaze upon my face. Let everything be very quiet. Let me rest."

Tim Allen was caught smuggling a cocaine onto a commercial plane in the 1970's

On October 2, 1978, shortly after beginning his stand up comedian career while working at an advertising firm, Allen was caught by drug sniffing dogs at Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport transporting about 650 grams (1.4 pounds) of cocaine. In exchange for not having to go to prison for life, as was the maximum penalty that could have been leveled against him, Allen plead guilty and subsequently ratted out the other drug dealers he knew. This got his potential sentence reduced from life imprisonment to 3-7 years. He ended up only serving 28 months in a Federal Correctional Institution, specifically at Sandstone, in Sandstone Minnesota. When he was released, he was 29 years old and, being an ex-con, found it hard to find other work, so decided to go back into stand-up comedy, as he had been doing on the side while working in advertising, before being convicted. Fast forward about 15-20 years and Allen briefly turned himself into an A-list star known for doing family and kid-friendly entertainment, including winning the “Hall of Fame” award at the Kids Choice Awards in 1996 and making $1.25 million per episode in the final season of Home Improvement. Talk about turning around your life.

Eddie Murphy has 9 kids with 5 different women

Murphy is one of the most prolific movie stars in Hollywood — for a couple of different reasons! A representative announced Eddie and girlfriend Paige Butcher are expecting their first child together, which brings the total up to nine kids for the legendary comedian. He previously welcomed children with four other women. “[Eddie and Paige] are pleased to announce that they are expecting a child in May,” his rep told E! News. Eddie, 54, and Paige, 36, have been together for four years. Eddie welcomed his first child with girlfriend Paulette McNeely 26 years ago. The following year, he welcomed another son with girlfriend Tamara Hood. The Coming To America star settled down a bit after that — at least in the traditional sense — when he had five children with wife Nicole Murphy. After that marriage ended, he had a daughter with former Spice Girls star Mel B. (He disputed Mel’s claim at first, but his paternity was confirmed with a test. It’s also worth noting that Eddie’s Wikipedia page fails to mention his oldest two sons and says he only has six children. Someone want to fix that?) With his ninth child on the way, Eddie is solidly on the list of celebrities with the most children. In fact, there really aren’t any notable living stars with more children — unless you count reality stars like the Duggars and Bateses or Jackson patriarch Joe Jackson. Eddie is now (nearly) tied with Stevie Wonder, who welcomed his ninth baby last year.

there are at least one Igbo Man in almost every country on earth

The Igbo are virtually the most popular set of Nigerians and perhaps the most travelled of them. There is hardly any part of Nigeria no matter its remoteness you don’t find an Igbo man. The Igbo man can travel as far away from his home as possible as long as he can find business opportunity. It is often joked that the Igbo can be found everywhere in the world as long as a black man can survive there. It is therefore not an exaggeration to say that for every five African men you find in Diaspora, one is Igbo. This is not unconnected to the fact that the Igbo man finds it easy to acclimatize to new environments much faster than most Nigerians do. This perhaps must be the reason why the Igbo are the most popular ethic group outside of Nigeria. Don’t be surprised if people in the Diaspora continue to wrongfully consider them the largest tribe in Nigeria; who wouldn’t when they are the most visible. The Igbo have always been known for their ingenuity. You hardly find any group in the whole of the African continent more creative and more industrious. Hardly would you ever find an Igbo man idle. He is always involved in one money-making venture or another. That perhaps is as a result of the norm in Igbo land which usually frowns at the laziness. Everyman was expected to fend for himself for dependency in Igbo land was abhorred unlike what is obtainable in other cultures. A typical Igbo man would therefore do virtually anything to make money because his life, dignity and respect within his community largely depended on it. Compared to other parts of Nigeria, the Igbos can be considered to be fairly educated with even the first full-fledged Nigerian university, University of Nigeria, Nsukka located within their territory.

In Albania nodding your head means NO and shaking your head means YES

Even more confusing is the way head nodding has evolved over time. The left-right nod means "yes" but also implies confusion and disagreement, so it can also mean "no". Nodding up and down means "no", but it also implies agreement and understanding.

Albanians are also very nice to strangers. Hospitality is considered to be very important. Albania is supposed to be the most hospitable country in Europe.

Ancient picture proves that Peter Drinklage may be immortal

Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage may be immortal as well.
A portrait of a man named Sebastian de Morra, who bears a suspiciously similar resemblance to Dinklage, hangs in the Museo del Prado in Madrid, Spain. According to numerous sources, de Morra worked as a court jester and buffoon in the 17th century, relegated to this rather undignified job because of his short stature.
Nothing else is known about him, probably because jesters weren't considered important enough for biographies.
